Mike Epps’

Inappropriate Behavior

By Nika Carter

Mike Epps, the 36 year old comedic actor, is well known for his role in the 2000 sequel Next Friday as Day Day Jones. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the actor/comedian started his career in comedy like many others as the “class clown”. Realizing that people were actually laughing at his jokes, he began to perform at the Comedy Act Theater in Atlanta.

To further his career he took a suggestion to move to New York. He landed a spot on Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam Tour in 1995; currently he is the host of the HBO series on Sunday nights.

In 2001, in the movie How High he played the part of the baby blue sweat suit wearing pimp named Baby Powder, for the fact that he used the powder to pimp slap most of the cast. Other movies include: Dr Doolittle 2, Rollbounce, All About the Benjamins, Malibu’s Most Wanted, and The Fighting Temptations.

Mike Epps Latest work includes the stand up Inappropriate Behavior. Taking place in San Jose, California, Mike Epps delivers a hilarious performance of comedy talking about issues dealing with relationships, the temptation of white women in slavery times, the Bush Administration during 9/11, dealing with fake drug dealers, and being a “special kid.” Epps’ humor is straight to the point and will have you thinking, “where did he come up with this?” His jokes are purely original and matter of a fact.

He offers impressions of the late James Brown and Michael Jackson that will have you shocked at how close he sounds. His use of physical humor and facial expressions makes his jokes hit you even harder and will have you reaching for the remote to pause so you can laugh. If you watch with your friends, you’ll definitely have inside jokes with quotes like, “Tell me what it smells like” and “I would have been your daddy but I didn’t have change for a five.”

Mike Epps’ upcoming movies include the video game horror flick, Resident Evil: Extinction which he stars with R&B singer Ashanti and The Grand starring Martin Sheen and Don Cheadle.
