Many of us in the hip-hop generation know the power of prayer but we seldom pray for spiritual guidance in our relationships. Consequently, we are often in unhealthy relationships that leave us disappointed, dejected, and depressed. If you read Proverbs 31:10-31 you will see the example of a power couple. The woman in the text is multifaceted and multitalented, and the man mentioned in the text is successful, respected, and blessed. Through the example of Proverbs 31 we see that when two people are patient enough to wait for their soul mate they can accomplish the impossible.

But many people don’t know what qualities too look for. Based upon my reading of Proverbs 31, I noticed six distinct characteristics of a soulmate:

1. Your soulmate must value you.
2. Your soulmate must believe in you more than you believe in yourself.
3. Your soulmate must be respected.
4. Your soulmate must take you to another level.
5. Your soulmate must praise you.
6. Your soulmate must fear the Lord.

If you are patient enough to wait for your soul mate, then God will deliver to you the person that makes you great.
