The
high of the primetime win against the Atlanta Falcons
has faded. The reality of the tough loss against the
Carolina Panthers has set in. The New Orleans Saints
(3-1) now look to take it out on the winless Tampa Bay
Buccaneers (0-3).
Tampa Bay will try to muster a victory without their
starting quarterback Chris Simms who may be out for the
rest of the season after having his spleen removed Sept.
24th. Starting in Simms’ place will be rookie
Bruce Gradkowski from Toledo.
The
Saints should get their running game back on track after
producing a measly 63 yards against the Panthers. The
Buccaneers are giving up about 170 yards per game on the
ground.
The
running game will be vital to negate the ferocious pass
rushing of Tampa Bay’s defensive ends. Dewayne White has
three sacks this season and the offensive line must keep
him and Simone Rice away from Drew Brees.
Tampa Bay is going to have to find a running game as
well to help their rookie quarterback settle into his
first start. Running back Carnell Williams is only
averaging 2.4 yards per carry.
The
Superdome will be a hostile environment for Gradkowski
and he should break under the defensive pressure causing
a buffet of turnovers.
Brees on the other hand should pick the Buccaneers
secondary apart which has only picked off one pass this
season.
The
Saints should win big 31-3.
