Indeed Southern University was the hot topic for last
week’s article. But this week SU is hot once again
because of their amazing marching band called the Human
Juke Box.
The football game that took place on Saturday was fun
and exciting. Not only because Southern won but because
of the many other interesting things going on during the
game.
First of all the SU Band was SMOKIN HOT! I hope
Grambling State University is ready for the Battle of
the Bands because Southern was bringing the heat at the
game.
They played the song “Stuntin Like My Daddy” by Lil
Wayne featuring Birdman at the end of the game band
battle against Texas Southern. Once they finished
playing this song the crowd was blown away!
The halftime show was awesome! The band did the
traditional field show elements including: making the
score, making the SU logo, and splitting up into four
dancing sections.
Once you thought the traditional show was over, Southern
surprised us with a new unit of dancers. These dancers
were interesting because instead of skinny girls they
had full-size women.
The women danced to Ludacris’ song Shake Your Money
Maker played by Southern’s Band. The crowd was all
smiles when these ladies came out and did their routine.
The routine was HOT might I add!
Almost everyone’s face looked like Beyonce’s face did
when she saw Monique and her girls do their rendition of
the “Crazy In Love” routine.
I
have to mention that the dancing dolls were marvelous as
always. The cheerleaders were also spectacular. After
one touchdown they did a countless amount of back flips
across the whole touchdown area.
There wasn’t a dull moment at the game and Southern’s
Band as well as the dancers and cheerleaders have to be
thanked for that. They truly made thegir homecomi game H
O double T! HOTT!
