Kappa week 2007 at LSU
By Tia Lockett
The pretty boys of the Nu Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi,
Incorporated are finally back and making their presence
known on Louisiana State University’s campus. Kappa Week
2007 kicked off Sunday, February 11, 2007 with a worship
service at Phat Church and a cookout that afternoon at Olympia
Park.
On Monday, February 12, 2007, the Kappas had a chant/twirl
off in Free Speech Alley at 12:11 p.m. to showcase their
twirling talents. The Kappas also passed out red roses to
the ladies that passed through. Monday night brought
forth a program entitled “Kandle Light Konversation,” that
dealt with the current issues that young adults deal with
when it comes to relationships.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2007, the Kappas organized a table
sit and gave out helpful information about the Big Buddy
Program that Nu Iota is involved in. On Wednesday, February
14, 2007, the Kappas will be providing massages in Free
Speech Alley from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Thursday, February
15, 2007, the Kappas were planning to host “Spend a Nite
with the Nupes” in the Union Theater at 7:11 p.m but the
event has been postponed.
The event was set to be hosted by Max 94.1 personality Tony
King. The variety show would have showcased a numerous talents,
including those of Kappas from across the state. B-NOW will
report more information about this postponed event as it
becomes available.
There will still be a party at Avoyelles Café that night.
On Friday, February 16, 2007, the Kappas will host a private
party (invitation only) to end the week.
Be sure to attend at least one of these great events this
week and show the Kappas some support.
